Hancock Fabrics

-Tend to be on the pricy side without coupons
-You have to sign up to receive the best coupons as their app doesn’t have as many good coupons as they used to. This doesn’t bother me but it bothers some people.

Cons

-You can always find good coupons for their fabrics
-Has a decent selection of stretchy fabrics
-Lots of specialty fabrics as well that you may need for details
-Being in-store, you can touch the fabrics without ordering swatches
-Being in-store, you can get any cut of fabric you would want.

Pros

Joann Fabrics

Hello once again, cosplayers! Today, I’ll be talking about some of the different resources you can look into when you are considering purchasing a stretchy fabric for your cosplay. Stretchy fabrics are a staple of many cosplays, so you’ll definitely want some in your arsenal. I’m speaking from personal experience with all of these resources, so your mileage may vary.

Hopefully this is helpful to some! As you can see, every resource has it’s pros and cons. Some are worse than others. It all depends on what risks you’re okay with taking or dealing with, but at least now you have an idea of what to expect!

-Has a random selection, you never really know what they’ll have
-Website is hard to navigate
-As far as I know, you can’t order swatches
-Has sent me the entirely wrong fabric before on mistake, though they were very prompt to send me the correct fabric and let me keep the mistake fabric. I’ve heard this complaint from other people as well.

-Not as many stretchy fabrics in basic colors
-Can be expensive

-GREAT selection, probably the best you’ll find
-Very speedy shipment
-Prices are very reasonable
-You can order swatches
-You can order half yards

-Problems with website(s) not being up to date. Once when I ordered from SpandexHouse, I got a call saying they didn’t have the fabric I wanted, but I was able to cancel the order and get it from SpandexWorld. However, another time when I ordered from SpandexWorld, they sent me my fabric without telling me one of the items I had ordered was out of stock. While they refunded the money, I would have liked to have known I was going to be short a color.
